EDUCAUSE submits comments on the proposed PIPA legislation

Today EDUCAUSE, together with other interested entities, has submitted comments on the proposed PIPA legislation (see previous post).  The comments address higher education’s concern in the legislative language that would “direct Internet Service Providers (ISPs) and others to interfere with Domain Name System (DNS) lookup services by tampering with their DNS responses and the substantial collateral damage by making domestic networks and users more vulnerable to cybersecurity attacks that would increase opportunities for identity theft as users migrate to offshore DNS providers not subject to the bill.”
