E10 Session Podcast: How to Use Social Media, Identity Management, and the Campus Portal to Effectively Communicate with Students

This session outlines how the portal can be used to facilitate communication and collaboration between groups within the organization. The speakers give concrete examples of interaction between administration/faculty and targeted student groups via the portal, including using communities, targeted alerts and announcements, customized calendaring, discussion boards, and document libraries. This session, from the EDUCAUSE 2010 Annual Conference, is presented by Sarah Alpert, Senior Project Manager for Touro College and Michael Sun, Director of Architecture and Planning for Loyola Marymount University.
