ELI2011 Podcast: Continuous Improvement in Teaching and Learning: The Open Learning Initiative

Using intelligent tutoring systems, virtual laboratories, simulations, and frequent opportunities for assessment and feedback, the Open Learning Initiative (OLI) at Carnegie Mellon University creates open web-based learning environments that support the type of flexible and responsive instruction that fosters learning. As students work through OLI courses, the OLI system collects real-time data that drives four positive feedback loops for continuous improvement: to students, to instructors, to course designers, and to learning science researchers. Find out more in this session by Candace Thille, Director of the Open Learning Initiative at Carnegie Mellon University. Streaming video of this session is also available.
