DC News: FCC Advisory Committee Adopts Cybersecurity Recommendations; FCC Chairman Offers Praise and Urges Preservation of Internet Freedom and Open Architecture

An FCC advisory committee – the Communications Security, Reliability, and Interoperability Council (CSRIC) – has unanimously adopted cybersecurity recommendations assisting Internet Service Providers to combat (1) botnets, (2) Internet route hijacking, and (3) domain name fraud.

In addition, FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski offered remarks praising CSRIC’s efforts to reduce the threat of cyber-attacks to communications networks and he highlighted the importance of preserving Internet freedom and the Internet’s open architecture.
