FCC Wireline Competition Bureau Releases E-Rate Eligible Services List for Funding Year 2012 (9-29-11)

On 9-29-11, the FCC Wireline Competition Bureau (WCB) released by Order (DA No. 11-1600) the Eligible Services List (ESL) to support E-rate recipients for Funding Year 2012.  See: http://hraunfoss.fcc.gov/edocs_public/attachmatch/DA-11-1600A1.pdf

The WCB adopted most of the clarifications proposed in the ESL Public Notice, with some minor modifications, for the following categories:

  • ESL Introduction
  • Telecommunications Services
  • Telecommunications
  • Internet Access
  • Internal Connections
  • Basic Maintenance of Internal Connections
  • Miscellaneous Clarifications

However, the WCB declined to add new services to the ESL and it emphasized that this proceeding was not intended to change the eligibility rules.
