West/Southwest Conference Explores IT Engagement

Amid rapid change in higher education and information technology, the importance of IT engagement continues to grow.

The EDUCAUSE West/Southwest Regional Conference, “Engaging Everyone Effectively," February 22–24 will explore collaborating, leading, and assessing IT’s role in higher education to help us thrive, individually and collectively, in this evolving landscape. Registration for this event is now open. Participants can join their peers in Portland or online to engage on higher education IT issues that matter to them.

  • Face-to-face and Online venues: Multiple venues provide options for anyone to attend from anywhere.  Portland offers an excellent location for individuals to network in person, or anyone can attend online to reap a selection of the same educational and networking benefits from the convenience of their own campus.
  • Faculty Opportunity: If someone is located near Portland, they have the option to bring faculty on Thursday, February 23, for single-day sessions and activities of specific benefit to them.
  • Known General Session Speakers:  Keynote presentations will be provide by Julie Evans, Chief Executive Officer (Project Tomorrow); and Cable Green, Director of Global Learning (Creative Commons).
  • CIO and Senior IT Leader Roundtable: The conference will also host a CIO and Senior IT Leader Roundtable, which will bring higher education CIOs and senior IT leaders together for an informal roundtable discussion on current issues and campus challenges, as well as provide networking opportunities before and after.
    • Please note: This event is limited to 35 college and university CIOs and senior IT leaders. You can either register for the Roundtable separately for $50 or at no additional fee when you register for the West/Southwest Regional Conference
