White House Set to Launch National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace

The White House is planning to release tomorrow, Friday, April 15th, the National Strategy for Trusted Identities in Cyberspace (NSTIC) at an event to be held at the U.S. Chamber of Commerce in Washington, D.C. You can watch a live webcast of the event scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. EDT. Speakers will include Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke, The White House Cybersecurity Coordinator Howard Schmidt, and other guests.

EDUCAUSE Washington Office staff will be in attendance and will provide live coverage via Twitter and will post more information to EDUCAUSE Washington Update immediately following the event.

More details about NSTIC are available at, including an animated video that explains the goal of NSTIC to establish identity solutions and privacy-enhancing technologies that will improve the security and convenience of sensitive online transactions.
