Prepare for National Cyber Security Awareness Month

Two Easy Ways to Increase Awareness

October is National Cyber Security Awareness Month (NCSAM). Below are two easy ways to increase information security awareness on your campus.

  1. Use the graphics below or the National Cyber Security Alliance graphics on your college or university website. Consider linking the graphics to the STOP. THINK. CONNECT. Tips and Advice page or create your own resources. For additional ideas, visit the Cybersecurity Awareness Resources page where you'll find out how many other colleges and universities are increasing awareness.
  2. Register for the October 4 NCSAM kickoff webinar at 1:00 p.m. (ET) with Dave Cullinane, CISO at eBay (retired) and co-founder of the Cloud Security Alliance. Consider attending this FREE event as a team or incorporate it into a campus event (learn more about planning a campus event).
Social Media and NCSAM
Many campuses have created dedicated information security awareness Twitter and Facebook profiles. Check out their profiles for real-time updates on their 2012 campaigns. The Higher Education Information Security Council (HEISC) maintains several social media pages, as well.
