Instructional Technologies Constituent Group

The use of information technology to enhance teaching and learning-instructional technology -combines an understanding of pedagogy and technology. Instructional technologists are a diverse group encompassing faculty, staff, and even students. Their professional backgrounds include technologists and subject experts, as well as education and learning theorists. The field is rapidly changing due to the continual evolution of the underlying technologies, enhanced understanding of learning, and discipline-driven changes within the subjects being taught. The EDUCAUSE Instructional Technologies constituent group provides a forum for the exchange and archiving of information and for discussions of key issues relating to information technologies. Topics range from learner-centered principles to technology selection. This group meets at the EDUCAUSE annual conference and uses the electronic discussion list to discuss issues throughout the year.
