Comments

All - Loyola University Chicago is beginning a search to eventually implement an enterprise level space/inventory management system(s) for our Facilities Department.  We are asking universities what current solutions you have deployed within your Facilities areas and how happy you/they are with those systems/vendors.

Any responses are appreciated.

At the risk of hijacking the thread, it's interesting to hear that KACE is working out for you.  Any insights to share?

UNL uses Archibus for space management (via Institutional Research & Planning) – but I'm not aware of a comprehensive inventory management tool in use at this time (though we are steadily growing use of KACE for endpoint and software inventory).

In terms of the Archibus tool, we will be starting the process to look for a replacement soon.

We're currently expanding our use of KACE, but it may not be the long-term solution for us - there have been some gaps in the functionality that it offers, especially along the lines of OSX device support and mobiles. We're looking at a few options, including combinations of solutions that may be better fits for our environment in the long run. :)

Whatever the solution winds up being, we want to provide a faster and more automatic experience for our users. We also recognize a very strong need to better manage the full range of our endpoints and have a better solution for software license management & compliance.
