All,

Notre Dame is interested in feedback regarding any experience with Oracle's Identity Management Suite.  Who is using it, to do what?  How's it going?

Jim, this is a follow-up to the conversation you facilitated with Phil Donahue a week or so ago.

Please let me know.

Thanks,
Sharif

Sharif,

Princeton University has been live on OIM 10g since 10/17.  We have been successful so far.  Our current provisioning targets are:

- Oracle Directory Server (Sun Directory)
- Active Directory
- Microsoft Exchange 2010
- NIS (via in-house built provisioning interface)
- Email delivery (enables forwarding without local mailbox)

We have a single system of record (Peoplesoft) and created a custom integration to communicate with it when the delivered connector was insufficient.

Our solution was very customized to handle multiple concurrent affiliations with various provisioning and deprovisioning offsets based on affiliation effective dates.  Our implementation is still very young but has been going quite well so far.

Re: [ITANA] Oracle Identity Manager UMUC looked at it – we were in the process of deploying Sun Identity Manager at the time of the Oracle purchase.  We ended up not deploying Sun or migrating to the Oracle product for a few reasons.  Mainly cost, but also because the tooling was completely different, required a lot of the Oracle stack (Weblogic, etc.), and Oracle hadn’t announced any coherent migration plan for Sun customers.  But we haven’t looked at it since 2009.

Thanks,
Rich
