Hi all,

I just learned than Camtasia Studio 8 is completely inaccessible to a screen reader. TechSmith mentioned that they never tested for this, amazing! We have found an HTML 5 player that is accessible, but it does not have the ability to allow close-captions to be toggled on and off. I wonder if any of you have encountered this situation before and found a solution. The options appear to be:

1)      Find an accessible player that can take a separate close-caption file and allow toggling.

2)      Find a company that better addresses this issue.

3)      Come to an unacceptable compromise (YouTube, captions that are always on)

I would greatly appreciate any insights you may have as our university will require all students to view the video tutorials.

Thanks to Michael Daul for the following solution:

It looks as though the video will be accessible on all platforms and devices except mac desktops and laptops due to their built-in screen reading capabilities. We will provide a link to download the file for Mac users, so mission accomplished.

Thought others might like to know.
