HI All - I sent this draft of possible accessibility questions to add to the EDUCAUSE Core Data questions. I have not approached EDUCAUSE core data staff yet about this. We could discuss this document. At the last call we thought that adding accessibility questions to the core data survey would be good. Do we still think this is a good idea? Also, this document is too long. Thanks. Judy Judy Borreson Caruso Director, IT Policy and Planning CIO's Office University of Wisconsin-Madison Madison WI 53706 judy.caruso@cio.wisc.edu 608-263-7318

Sushil – At the call on Jan 2 a small subteam was put together to work on the questions. The team met last week and made some progress. Our goal is to have  a small number of questions to the CDR folks by the end of January (their deadline).

In response to your questions:

1.       Yes there was an earlier survey by Athen (much longer) and I used it, along with a Dept of Justice survey to get ideas

2.       Don’t know exactly. The target is 8 or less high-level questions for the Core Data survey. I think we might want a longer survey and cover more detail.

Thanks.

Judy

Subject: Re: [ITACCESS] ITACCESS Teleconference Tomorrow

Hello Judy, I missed  this meeting earlier this month but I'[m reviewing your draft with great interest. It is a very meaningful survey but I have a few questions:

1. What are the references to  Athen 4.4? Is it referring to an earlier survey by Athen?

2.  Were disabled  faculty also considered for this survey? Some of the issues are interconnected but then disabled faculty have  IT issues specific to their teaching and research.

I'm thinking of the accessibility of smart classrooms and electronic podiums. The same is true for library resources, faculty training, and other IT equipment.

I would like to know if there is another group  that is working on faculty concerns.

Thanks!
