Message from denise.anderson@wright.edu

I've been following the thread Observations from the Gartner portals conference with great interest and would like to know if anyone has, or is in the process, of pursuing a lean portal build in Drupal?

Since this idea is under consideration at our university, I recently watched a presentation from Cal State Monterey Bay, given at last week's at Drupalcon, on using Open Atrium to develop a campus intranet.  Open Atrium was originally marketed for project management and it's taken some tweaking for it to suit their needs.  The presentation is available at:  http://denver2012.drupal.org/program/sessions/open-atrium-dot-edu-open-atrium-campus-intranet and I would be very interested to hear the thoughts of this group.

Many thanks,
Denise

We are trying very hard to take a broad approach, our foundational CMS is Word Press but we have incorporated Drupal in several cases while we also utilize MS SharePoint. They all have their strengths and weakness' and I strive to use the tool that fits the job the best. The largest challenge to this approach is the skillset of staff, we IT folks tend latch on to a technology like it is a religion. So far I have been able to make this work.... Cheers, Russ
