We have been running our UCD Connect Portal service for 10 years now and although it continues to be successful from many perspectives, it's a good time to revisit our portal strategy.
If you are developing or have recently developed a Portal strategy then I'd like to discuss that with you. In particular, I'm wondering what impact services such as Google plus and other Mobile-based services are having on your own portal plans ? We have a Mobile service here (based on Blackboard Mobile Central/Mosaic) but there is not a great deal of overlap with our portal services ... perhaps there should be. We are also a Google site (Mail, Cal & Drive for all constituents) are working to roll-out Google Plus.
We need to do a little soul searching here, together with surveying the views of our customers. However, I was wondering if you have any comments on your own plans. I'd be happy to summarise responses if people think that's useful.
