In December we're holding the second in EDUCAUSE's series of Campus IT Policy Workshops. These are designed to provide a compact, effective introduction to IT policy implementation in colleges and universities. The first Workshop, in Chicago this past July, filled quickly and was evaluated highly by participants. We're heading West for the second, specifically to San Diego: see http://gregj.us/citpw-2 for more info and registration.

The workshops are designed for IT folks whose responsibilities have grown to include policy development or oversight, and for campus policy folks who find themselves dealing with IT-related issues. Although of course we welcome participation by those already deeply involved in policy, or with an intellectual interest in particular or general policy issues, our focus will be on effective front-line practice. The workshops will involve some presentations, some case-study work, and some work on issues participants bring with them.

If you employ or know of people who might be interested in the workshops, or groups that should know about them, may I prevail on you please to pass the word (and the link) along to them?

If you've got questions about this, please let me know. We're hoping that the workshops help colleges and universities deal more effectively and consistently with policy challenges. We welcome advice or suggestions that will help us achieve that.
