Good Afternoon!

We have been having some problems with our card access control system and have started the process of requirements gathering for a potential replacement. I know that there are a TON of different solutions out there that cover both the management software (for actually granting access to the various card-swipe doors on campus) and also for the hardware (door locks, controller boards, etc.). I am curious:

-          What solutions are being used out  there on other campuses

-          If you order, install, and support the hardware and management of the software yourselves, or if it’s contracted through a 3rd party dealer

-          If anyone has a relatively recent RFP that they would be willing to share with us to look through the list of requirements (related to software, hardware, and support)

Thank you, for any assistance that you can give.  Have a great rest of your day!

Cory

We use a Lenel system sold through CBORD - https://www.cbord.com, they are headquartered in town.

The system was installed with contracting assistance, but we manage and maintain software and hardware ourselves.  By "we" I mean our ID Office (not part of IT) and Facilities.

Sorry, don't have an RFP.

We use Blackboard (OneCard as it used be marketted by AT&T I believe) - the same compnay that has the LMS system. This was installed some 8 years ago through an RFP, I am afraid no one seems to have a copy of it. It is managed by our OneCard office as well which is not part of IT, but part of Auxilliary Services. All entry doors for all buildings have card readers installed originally by a local contractor, any new additions are done by the Facility electrician. IT manages the server that provides the access service.
