Is anyone on this list using the Alertus Desktop Client with e2campus issued alerts? We have our Alertus server setup and have configure e2campus for the new Alertus server. E2campus shows the service as “green” and the Alertus server is receiving the e2campus alert. The Alertus server is then activating the desktop client. The one last thing we can’t figure out is how to show the text of the alert, as entered in e2campus, on the Alertus desktop client popup screen. The only text we can get to display is the default Alertus “SYSTEM TEST” message.

Thanks for any assistance

As a general comment:

By the way, as a general comment we had an emergency last week and the idea that everyone's desktop got the alert was a real win. This gets pushed out very quickly, often before you get the text. We also integrate this into our portal so it pops the message as a banner across the top of the portal.

For deployment, we have it pushed out as an active directory group policy to all machines in AD and it runs on our lab machines. In many places cell phone coverage is limited or some people don't have cell phones so this provides a good approach for reaching people on campus. It works very fast.
