Like many others, SPU has deployed an emergency notification system and multiple separate processes that includes:

·         texts and emails to students and employees

·         triggers emergency signs and visual displays

·         activates lockdown protocols

·         utilizes social media (Facebook, Twitter)

·         activates exterior speaker systems

Our current solution has been in place for 6 years and is not as tightly integrated across all communication channels as we would prefer.  J

We want to review the marketplace again to determine whether we should consider alternate vendors.  If you have an RFI or RFP that you have used for emergency notification systems review, purchase, or deployment – I’d love a copy so I don’t have to start from scratch.

If you are particularly pleased with your current solution, I’d appreciate that as well (either on-list or off-list).

Thanks in advance….

Hi Dave,

I'm not sure if you are member of OETC, http://oetc.org/, but they recently ran an RFP for emergency notification services.  If you are not a member, it's worth joining just for the access to a number of collaborative pricing agreements.  Two or three solutions were selected from the RFP to offer to members; a basic solution and some more full featured products.

As for us, we switched last year to Rave Mobile Safety, which has been a fantastic product.

Dave (and Colleagues),

Would appreciate an opportunity to discuss what you are looking for as we are considering a couple of providers for offerings through Internet2 NET+ Services. Please write back to me (kyazdi@internet2.edu) and my colleague, Ben Fineman (bfineman@internet2.edu) if you have some time to talk about your requirements.

Many Thanks,

Khalil
