Good morning!

Does anyone have any experience with Faculty Workload software?  What are the top two or three in the industry and do you know if they integrate with Banner?  Have any of you considered developing your own?  Would you recommend for or against in-house development?  For those with Banner experience, would you recommend the Banner product?

Keith,

I'm not familiar with the Banner product.  We developed our own called CALM, Curriculum And Load Management system.  It allows a department to enter their course offering information in department specific courses, general education distribution courses and general education integrated courses; faculty loads; keeps track of baseline allocations of FTE to departments that they use to deliver their courses and other assignments, allows for easy comparison between the baseline and actual allocations for department chairs to hold the line on expenses for course offerings.  It has proven immensely helpful for us to understand and manage expenses related to curricular offerings and faculty loads.
It connects to upload course offerings from departments prior to registration and then is updated by BANNER every day when registration occurs and thereafter.
