It seems a good time to remind everyone of list guidelines.  List guidelines are found on this web site:

If you have a question about whether a post is acceptable, please send me an email first and I will be happy to walk through the issue with you.  Please note that list moderation activities often occur in private.  Rather than busy the list with public reprimands, we work off-line, directly with individuals or the companies they represent, to give guidance, warnings, and finally to remove those who do not comply from the list.  Please do not assume that nothing is being done because you do not see a public reprimand on the list. If you have a complaint about a post, please do not hesitate to send me an email off-list.

Key points from the guidelines:
All postings should be signed with the subscriber's name, institutional/organizational/corporate affiliation, and e-mail address.

Endorsements are acceptable if made in the context of a request for information or sharing of an experience. We consider information sharing, such as sharing results of surveys, valuable input. When the endorsement comes from a representative of a corporate member, any mention of company products or services should be in the context of a reasonable answer to a question posed by another subscriber and should not be blatantly commercial; such postings should include the identifying signature of the person posting the message.

EDUCAUSE Constituent and Discussion Groups are educational in nature and not intended for promotional announcements, advertising, product-related press releases, or other commercial use.  We do not find self-promotional announcements acceptable for posting.
