We are wanting to offer Google Apps to our students under a Terms of Service that includes FERPA protections, etc. Does anyone already have such agreement they are willing to share? Or any advice on the process of negotiating a custom Terms of Service?

Travis,

SUNY has a pretty good agreement with Google that addresses this.  You might follow up with Joe Storch, SUNY Associate Counsel.  You can reach him at joseph.storch@suny.edu.

Hi friends, I will be leaving Point Loma Nazarene University and higher education in a few weeks. I want to thank all those that contributes to this list server as you have made it one of the most active CIO communities. This community surely exemplifies the spirit of sharing and the willingness to help each other. I have learned a lot from all of you and I just hope I have made a small contribution to this community. I hope to continue to but it will from a very different light. Well, as a close colleague and personal friend of Sam Young's for many years, I can say that he is just as insightful in face-to-face interactions as he has been online. Fortunately, I anticipating seeing more of him as he transitions to his new role. And if the past is any indication, HE'LL BE BACK.
