We're developing something in-house to track acknowledgements (e.g., read and acknowledge a policy) and certifications (completion of training, including online) in LDAP for the whole university system as part of our identity management infrastructure. That way it can be readily integrated with our provisioning and deprovisioning processes where appropriate, including for sensitive systems/information. david

Hello everyone. I'm Gale Stafford - an analyst/consultant in a process improvement group in the central IT unit at University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. This is my first post to the group after a month or two of watching and listening. We need to improve our technology for tracking completion of mandatory training, and notifying staff about upcoming training requirements and past due training. I believe we're using something as simple as a "spreadsheet and manual email" solution right now to track this for staff that work for central IT. What are others using to track training -- either for the campus IT staff or for the whole campus? BTW, some of the training we need to track: - NIMS/ICS - FERPA - HR Training Series for Managers - Annual ethics training - IT Security training - Staff professional development Compliance items that we track include: - statements of economic interest - conflicts of interest filings - security compliance form I'll compile a summary of all the responses and will post the summary to this list when its complete. Looking forward to hearing from you… thanks in advance. We just completed implementation of LearnerWeb from http://www.maxit.com to deliver and track training requirements for employees. They also provide a library of self-paced training materials. In my previous experience, I have found it to be a proven product for delivery of training required for compliance, professional development and orientations. Malik K.
