Our campus uses Majordomo 2, and I'm on a couple of GNU Mailman lists - one of which I co-manage.

Both seem to work well.

We use LISTSERV.   In addition to the typical self-managed lists, we use it to create a system of dynamic lists (from enterprise identity data) based on organizational affiliations and roles, enabling accurate institutional communication to reach the appropriate members of the university community from designated individuals and offices.

Best,
Rajiv

We are using Mailman version 2.1.12.  We have been using Mailman for a number of years and it works well.

We do the same via Google Groups for the typical self-managed lists and have a custom web application that tracks automated/dynamic Google Group creations, maintenance, and populating of.

We've been using LISTSERV, but are actively trying to decommission it. We're working on migrating the lists to Google Groups that can be self-managed. We also have automated groups that are created from roles in our ERP that translate to Active Directory groups and sync to Google via GADS.

CAUDIT is currently using Mailman, but we have some test lists within Google Groups – this does appear to be the future of our lists at the moment.

Darrell,

We are using Google Groups for internal lists and Sympa for lists that are maintained, or include many members, outside the college community.

For reference, this list and all Educause lists use L-Sott's Listserv product which I've used in the past and is excellent if you need more features than open-source or Google can provide.
