Has anyone on the list completed the migration from Live@edu (or any other source) to Office 365? I’m being told by some very reliable sources that we should delay migration as long as possible due to the complexity and difficulty of migrating. Does anyone on the list have any insight into these “issues” or experience with the migration process?

Thanks in advance!

Mickey

Mickey,

We moved all of our faculty and staff to Office365 starting in December. I'd be glad to talk with you off line next week on our project and lessons learned.
Generally it went very well, but there were some challenges and solutions that we'd be glad to discuss.

We have great 3rd party migration tools to help you out (and we are a Microsoft partner)

LSU will complete a migration of faculty/staff mailboxes (approximately 7,500) from Exchange 2003 to Office 365 by the end of November.  We are using a cloud-based migration tool:  http://www.migrationwiz.com/Public/Default.aspx

We began the migration one year ago and chose this method to minimize downtime.  Good planning and a great team are the key ingredients to a successful migration, just like everything else.   The migration has been relatively painless, but again, our experience is with migrating from E2003 to O365 (not Live@edu).

Good luck!

Hello,

Microsoft has informed us of our impending upgrade from Microsoft Live@Edu to Microsoft Office 365.

Has anyone gone through the process and is willing to share their experiences?  We are concerned about how this will affect our students and password synchronization/account provisioning.

Thank you in advance.

We would be interested in hearing about this too – are also going to need to migrate.  We keep our faculty/staff mailboxes local, only students are in Live@EDU
