Our mail services department has asked if we could help them find a software to track packages for students and provide an email to notify the students that they have a package to pick up.  Last year, 92,000 packages came through the mail room for students.  We are still tracking packages manually and putting a slip of paper in their mailbox.  Does anyone use a software package that provides the capability of tracking the package and emailing/texting students?

Hi Chris,

We are using something which I believe is called Arrival by Pitney Bowes and does just that.   You can scan packages which are then associated with a user’s record in the system and it emails them a notification.  Overall it works pretty well and our mail room staff are happy with it.

We use Vuetura – see for details.  Our mailroom people are happy with the solution.  Notifications come through to recipients via email when a package comes off the delivery truck.  System requires very minimal care and feeding from IT once set up.
