Has anyone used the services of a qualified consultant to finally get a grasp of PCI compliance for your institution? My institution (like many) is grappling with this. I would like to find a qualified consultant who can come in, assess the situation and help us put a roadmap together so that we get compliant with this seemingly moving target. I would be glad to entertain responses offline and then summarize for the group later.

Thanks!

Frank,

I believe the name of the company we use is Campus Guard.

Last year Macalester College contracted with 403 Labs to do a PCI Gap Analysis (on a recommendation from Carleton College).  The experience was very positive, substantially I think because of their experience and understanding of higher ed.   The manager of the higher ed division is Jano Kray and her email is: jkray@403labs.com.

Thanks,
Harry

Frank,

We use Campus Guard as well and have been pleased with their work.  By way of cautionary notes:  1)this is one of those areas where it’s not just about IT—so it’s best to have a strong partner from your finance/business area leading the way; and 2) requirements continue to change, so be prepared to give PCI-DSS on-going attention.

Thanks Darlene,

I understand that it is not only about I.T. Our finance office is with us on this all the way.

Thanks,

Frank
