Simultaneous System Access Question
At the beginning of some semesters (this one for example), our users are receiving a message of "too many simultaneous users" when a large number of classes log into our portal at the same time to get to our LMS. Our portal is Luminis 126.96.36.199 and our LMS is Blackboard Learn 9.1.6. Blackboard is not really in this equation. It is a load issue as the servers respond as normal once logged into it. We have (2) Luminis Portal tier servers behind an F5 load balancer and 1 Resource tier server that talks to Banner.
It usually happens on the first and possibly the second day of the term. Other than throwing more hardware at the problem or requesting faculty to change their habits. Have we missed any magic bullet to resolve our issue. Any type of parameter that may make sense to look at?
Any suggestions will be appreciated.
