Because of transitions in leadership as the last campus strategic plan was finalized, technology was not properly addressed in the primary document.  Therefore the provost commissioned an additional strategic plan for innovation in technology and information.

This page contains the charge to the committee and a link to the resulting report:

The actual plans sit behind our firewall but the attached powerpoint explains the overall Strategic Plan with Facilities, Infrastructure and technology be the 3rd of the five overall goals. The pdf represents the whole of Goal 3 (of the five university goals) with objectives and tasks identified. Tom Thomas H. In each of our institutional goals we have one technology based objective that supports the goal with specific strategies defined. I argue both sides of the fence. Technology per se is not a strategic entity unless you are an engineering or some such school…it is a basic underlying part of the fabric of the college, like electricity, water, sewer…. On the other hand if it isn’t mentioned in the plan, someone will forget to include wiring closets in new construction…so we included objectives….

Rick:

Thanks for sharing the technology strategic plan for Wake Forest with me..  I have long been a bit of a fanboy about Wake Forest and the leadership there. This plan is absolutely so right on target that it will be a model for me as we develop the university plan in the tech areas.

Much appreciated!
