All, We are looking for a collaboration toolset that can be used to support regional accreditation prep. We need to accommodate about 50 contributors on 4-5 teams. We do not have time to deploy an enterprise solution like SharePoint. Any ideas? Thanks. Jerry,

We'll be using Google Docs here. If you want a commercial solution and don't want to use your LMS (as Theresa recommends) take a look at Confluence from Atlassian. A commercial Wiki with good security that should prove useful for other things after the accreditation process is over.

We did a similar thing using Sakai.  If we are going to inflict it on our students, why shouldn't we inflict it on ourselves?  We use it for any collaboration need, including a team room for a major job search, project management for significant projects, etc.   It gives everyone a common understanding, and allows easy onboarding new team members of any of these needs.

We use Google Docs, but for this I'd be inclined to use Basecamp.
We will be tackling this about 10 months from now and Basecamp will be my suggestion at the time.

We use Xitracs from Concord USA. It allows collaboration and have simple workflows with flags on evidence status. It also allows for cycles so you can lock your submission and continue with progress reports (if needed). Document libraries can be reused for several accreditations. It has a simple faculty accreditation module (if needed). They have several templates for accreditation (we used it for SACS and IACBE) and if they do not have a template you need they can create one for you. The most powerful feature is it will format your submission whether on PDF or a website with a push of a button, no reformatting or web developers involve although you will need some IT help to setup the websites, that alone saved us an great amount of time when we were in the final formatting editing stages. If you have any questions you can PM me. Regards, Maria Piret Director Information Systems Lynn University 3601 N. Military Trail Boca Raton, FL 33431 561-237-7355 mpiret@lynn.edu Google+ / LinkedIn
I would recommend Atlassian Confluence: an academic license for 50 users is $200/mo. This is their "on-demand" service and includes hosting and support. see: http://www.atlassian.com/licensing/confluence#ondemandsubscriptions-1

Basically you can go online and just sign up: https://www.atlassian.com/ondemand/signup/?product=confluence.ondemand

Confluence is a pretty popular knowledge base/collaboration tool within higher ed (see below--not sure how up to date this is) and I have used this previously for accreditation work.

Best of luck,
Patrick

We use something called Compliance Assist from Campus Labs http://www.campuslabs.com/products/compliance-assist/ My IR folks love it as do the chairs of the Middle States accreditation committee. I can put you in touch with my IR folks if you like. Best, Rob Dr. Robert Paterson Vice President - Information Technology, Planning and Research Molloy College Rockville Centre, NY
