In August I sent a question to the list asking anticipate any technologies that might surprise us this fall.
Well I can report we got caught by one.
I think it is being called "bandwidth demands of media-rich courses." At least for us what it appears to be is that everyone is showing Youtube videos in class at the same time. Network is crawling, we are fine with latency issues but it takes forever for the non-ad embedded videos to load.
We are just catching up, adding more bandwidth...but its driving both network guys and the faculty nutty. ...anyone else seeing this... Any think else we missed in August?
