A recent suggestion has been made for our institution to take advantage of Amazon's partnership program. The basic tenant is to provide URLs on web pages to which direct users to Amazon with our institutional partnership codes. Any subsequent purchases could get the institution between 2% and 8% of the purchase. Does anyone do this? If so, do you have a policy or process reference? It is also possible to program our edge routing equipment to rewrite URL references to our partners and add our partner codes. Has anyone ventured into URL rewriting? (As a point of reference, I am not at all inclined to support this direction, but have been asked to see if others have ventured out into this tar pit).
