We are starting the process of developing our service catalog based on ITIL.  We have the content and are now looking at various options for posting the catalog information on the web.  We were very impressed with how Stanford has displayed their service catalog online and was wondering if anyone out there could share with us what software or applications are out there to assist us in getting this info online.

When looking at Stanford’s service catalog it’s very apparent that there is a lot of complexity going on under the hood and I’m assuming they’ve either built something in-house or are using a form of content management web app.

Any advice you could give us would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you,

I reviewed their HTML source, and it’s likely they are using Drupal. That makes sense as Stanford has stood out as a major Drupal adopter. E.g.,

I’d guess it’s a mostly an in-house system if their functionality goes beyond what’s included in Drupal or its modules. It could have tie-ins with other systems that I cannot discern.

It looks like you’re on Drupal, too. J

Thanks Aren.  Yes, you are correct, we are using Drupal.  We outsource our web site management because we don’t have the staffing needed and are a pretty small institution.  We would like to find a CM solution that would allow our department to create our own internal site to house our Service Catalog.

Thanks so much for the info.  Much appreciated.
