Hello all, hope this e-mail finds you well.  We have a few users that simply could not get used to conversations in our Google Apps environment, so they had them turned off, which seems to be working for their needs.  However, they also have Android devices using the GMail application for their e-mail that does not allow to turn conversation off.

Do you know if there is a way of turning conversation off for these devices and this client, if not, have you had any luck and recommend a different client for Android devices that would be able to show e-mails as if conversation was turned off?

Thank you,

Another alternative is K-9 Mail.  It's free and available in Google Play.

To be honest, though, you are losing a lot of functionality using just IMAP with Gmail.
