Hi Leah,

If you'll permit a comment by a CIO lurking on this list, I have a very small staff.  It would be difficult to impossible for me to include salary information if there is any chance that someone could use the survey to figure out individual salaries.  As we have one network guy, one instructional technologist, one DBA, etc., depending on how things are defined and how salaries, positions, and operating budgets are dealt with elsewhere in the survey we could have a confidentiality issue.

I would not want the challenges experienced by one group to kill the effort, but the way this is currently defined I'm not sure many smaller operations could complete this section.  The devil is in the details, but disaggregated salary info may be a dealbreaker for some of us.

Hopefully I'm misunderstanding how this would work!

Enterprise Conference Proposal Deadline: December 16

Colleagues,

You have probably seen this directly from Educause today but I am sending you this message to once again invite you and your staff to send in a presentation proposal.   The Call for Proposals is open for just eleven more days, ending after December 16.

We are open to presentation formats that you find engaging so consider a panel, point counter point, facilitated group activity, etc.  on these major themes:

  • Governance and Data-Driven Decisions
  • Leadership
  • Institutional Strategic Planning and Technology
  • IT Service and Systems Management

Many thanks.
