IT Communicators,

Here's what is going on with the coffee shops in December. Based on replies to my previous inquiries, I can tell it is a crazy month for everyone.  Let's de-stress a bit and simplify IT Comm events.

Cancelled: December 14 - regular monthly coffee shop

New: December 20, Thursday at 2PM Central US time - International Coffee Shop.  Steff Hughes from the University of Cape Town will present "Capturing the Attention of Generation Y."

I will update the wiki page soon and send reminders the week of December 20.  I know several members will already be gone for winter break by that time; we'll miss you in the international coffee shop and hope to catch up with you in January.

Thanks for the information Carlyn. I’m new to this group. Are the coffee shops recorded? I won’t be able to attend on 12/20 chat but would be very interested in hearing a podcast or watching a webinar?

Hi Deb, Welcome to the single best resource I've found for higher ed IT communicators! Our colleagues are terrific sources of information and share freely. We don't record the coffee shops, but I usually put detailed notes in the wiki. See We have a virtual coffee shop on the second Friday of each academic month at 11AM Central. The international coffee shop is something new, suggested at the Educause annual conference, and we will try it from time to time to give our global peers a more reasonable time to join in the discussion.
