IT Communicators, I'm collecting a list of questions for our panelists in the first coffee shop for this academic year, September 13. Please add yours to the list below. Also, we need two more panelists. If you use Google Analytics, please volunteer. No preparation needed; you can share your GA stats from your desktop as you answer questions. The tool is so intimidating! How do I navigate through Google Analytics? What is on your dashboard? What date range do you use? How do I interpret visits vs unique visitors? What is a bounce? (bounce rate?) How do I separate traffic into what people on our network are looking at and what people outside our network are looking at? How much of my web traffic is from mobile devices? What part of my home page are people looking at? Where do they go from my home page? What website pages can I eliminate because no one is going there? If someone finds me from a search engine, what words did they use for their search? Thanks for your input; see you in the coffee shop in 10 days, Carlyn ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.

Hi Diane,

Welcome to the ITCOMM list; I know you’re new to the group. For the past several years, Carlyn Chatfield of Rice University has facilitated virtual ‘coffee shops’ throughout the academic year. These take place from 12-1:00 EST on the second Friday of the month. Carlyn regularly solicits input on topics of mutual interest.  More information on coffee shops, along with notes from past ones, is available on the ITCOMM wiki (http://www.educause.edu/wiki/virtual-coffee-shop). It’s a great way to connect with other ITCOMM colleagues throughout the year, and they start up again next week. Enjoy!

Hi Carlyn, If you don't find enough panelists, I could join. However, I just use "out of box" google analytics and only for a subset of our websites. I'd be happy to contribute, but if you find better panelists, then I'm also very happy to just listen in from the sidelines. Let me know if I can help, Anita Nichols UC Davis
