EDUCAUSE Core Data and Community Colleges
********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
Greetings to all…
The EDUCAUSE Core Data Survey for 2012 is closing soon – and I hope that you are already completing your survey….but if not, perhaps this email will convince you to contribute data for your college. There is some very rich information inside of the CDS, but you will only get access to that if you participate, and then you will be able to see the data for every school who has participated. On a personal level, this information has been invaluable for planning, making the case for resources, and gauging our progress against other colleges. Most importantly, the more community colleges we can get to contribute, the better off we'll all be by having a richer set of peer data.
Now on to the good news….or at least something to spark your interest!
EDUCAUSE has generously offered an incentive just for community colleges: They'll send you a complimentary copy of their recent report on IT in Community Colleges. You can see some highlights at: http://www.educause.edu/library/resources/information-technology-services-community-colleges-strengths-opportunities-and-challenges The only other people who can get it now are ECAR subscribers.
If you're interested (and I hope you are), just send Susan Grajek or Leah Lang a note letting them know you intend to participate. Then once you've submitted your data, they'll make sure you get a copy of the report.
Keith McIntosh and I have been working with EDUCAUSE and the CDS Advisory Group to ensure that the needs of community colleges are being met, and that the data collection is in a form that works for us. We hope you'll consider participating in this year’s survey, even though the deadline is rapidly approaching. We would both welcome any and all comments on the survey, and will be sure to get the feedback on to advisory group. We both recognized it has changed in the last couple of year, but feel that the results will be worth waiting for and we are excited about the outcomes!
The survey is at http://www.educause.edu/coredata. The deadline for completing the survey is August 3, but we think EDUCAUSE will give you an extension if you ask. ;-)
Thanks in advance for your participation!
