The Director of Information Systems oversees the use of technology, campus-wide. The person serving in this position should be a strategic thinker with a technology degree or the equivalent experience in the educational technology field, a wide knowledge of networks, systems, data bases and software. He or she should have a collaborative attitude toward decision-making and a strong grounding in the Christian faith. This is a twelve month position reporting directly to the Headmaster.
Â± Provides vision and oversight for all campus-wide technology
Ã˜ Stays abreast of new technologies
Ã˜ Consults and coordinates with division principals the ongoing implementation of technology
Ã˜ Reviews all requests for purchasing of new hardware and software
Ã˜ Works with director of development, business administrator and division principals to seek funding for technology projects
Ã˜ Collaborates with the instructional technologist to determine if proposed resources are consistent with current technology
Ã˜ Coordinates with business office and admissions to maintain databases and transition information to the academic areas
Ã˜ Manages the ongoing relationship between business, administration and academic databases
Ã˜ Oversees the maintenance and updates of all campus-wide software and networks systems
Ã˜ Conducts feasibility and implementation plans for all new hardware and software advances
Â± Manages and supervises technology staff
Ã˜ Collaborates with the instructional technologist in academic endeavors
Ã˜ Oversees the supervision of the Help Desk
Ã˜ Manages the self-maintenance program for the tablet program
Ã˜ Prioritizes requests and projects, managing their completions
Ã˜ Monitors the progress on projects
Ã˜ Establishes and maintains the computer repair records as well as ticket request items
Ã˜ Directs repairs and troubleshooting
Ã˜ Oversees installation of new equipment
Ã˜ Encourages professional development of all IT staff members
Ã˜ Conducts periodic team meetings
Ã˜ Hires and evaluates personnel
Â± Chairs the Technology Committee
Ã˜ Sets agenda for all meetings
Ã˜ Writes, implements, maintains, and updates a three year Technology plan
Â· Determines and prioritizes technology needs for all divisions
Â· Determines a rotational strategy for purchasing and re-using equipment
Â± Oversees Technology and AV Equipment
Ã˜ Maintains an inventory of all technology resources
Ã˜ Approves purchases
Ã˜ Coordinates the upgrading, patching, and licensing of all software on campus
Â± Maintains the IT budget
Â± Manages technology purchasing and installation for all building/construction projects
Proven leadership; well-developed people management and communication skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and motivate staff; demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies; a wide knowledge of hardware and networking; ability to learn and analyze new technologies.
