Director of Information Systems  

The Director of Information Systems oversees the use of technology, campus-wide. The person serving in this position should be a strategic thinker with a technology degree or the equivalent experience in the educational technology field, a wide knowledge of networks, systems, data bases and software. He or she should have a collaborative attitude toward decision-making and a strong grounding in the Christian faith. This is a twelve month position reporting directly to the Headmaster.

 

RESPONSIBILITIES

±   Provides vision and oversight for all campus-wide technology

Ø  Stays abreast of new technologies

Ø  Consults and coordinates with division principals the ongoing implementation of  technology

Ø  Reviews all requests for purchasing of new hardware and software

Ø  Works with director of development, business administrator and division principals to seek funding for technology projects

Ø  Collaborates with the instructional technologist to determine if proposed resources are consistent with current technology

Ø  Coordinates with business office and admissions to maintain databases and transition information to the academic areas

Ø  Manages the ongoing relationship between business, administration and  academic databases

Ø  Oversees the maintenance and updates of all campus-wide software and networks systems

Ø  Conducts feasibility and implementation plans for all new hardware and software advances

±   Manages and supervises technology staff

Ø  Collaborates with the instructional technologist in academic endeavors

Ø  Oversees the supervision of the Help Desk

Ø  Manages the self-maintenance program for  the tablet program

Ø  Prioritizes requests and projects, managing their completions

Ø  Monitors the progress on projects

Ø  Establishes and maintains the computer repair records as well as ticket request items

Ø  Directs repairs and troubleshooting

Ø  Oversees installation of new equipment

Ø  Encourages professional development of all IT staff members

Ø  Conducts periodic team meetings

Ø  Hires and evaluates personnel

±  Chairs the Technology Committee

Ø  Sets agenda for all meetings

Ø  Writes, implements, maintains, and updates a three year Technology plan

·         Determines and prioritizes technology needs for all divisions

·         Determines a rotational strategy for purchasing and re-using equipment

 Â± Oversees Technology and AV Equipment

Ø  Maintains an inventory of all technology resources

Ø  Approves purchases

Ø  Coordinates the upgrading, patching, and licensing of all software on campus

±   Maintains the IT budget 

±   Manages technology purchasing and installation for all building/construction projects

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Proven leadership; well-developed people management and communication skills; ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and motivate staff; demonstrated aptitude for learning new technologies; a wide knowledge of hardware and networking; ability to learn and analyze new technologies.
