If you are using an web filter appliance, what are you using and are you happy with it?

We have been using  a Cymphonix web filter appliance and are reasonably pleased with it.     They did promise a multiple network interface that they never delivered on (so we could run our public and private networks through 1 appliance).   The interface is a bit clunky meaning it takes a lot of steps to edit the blocked or allowed lists.  It has been a great investment in reducing web-borne malware on our network.

We have <300 devices on that network.

Thanks!

Julie,
We use an iBoss appliance. http://iboss.com/ibwf_module_specifications.html We have the 4550 and it doesn't have multiple interfaces. I'm not sure if other models do. I really like the appliance. With that said, we are looking at migrating filtering to our firewall as we are reducing the amount of filtering we are doing and the firewall might suffice. It has multiple interfaces and is already filtering the public side of our network. We may keep the iboss in place as an extra layer for additional virus and malware filtering.

We used to have a Cymphonix filter (and a SonicWALL firewall).  Approximately two years ago, we cut everything over to a FortiGate firewall/filter (all in one box) and haven't looked back.  Much more powerful firewall than SonicWALL at the time (and still very powerful today) and a much better filter than the Cymphonix.

We have about 2000 devices on our network on any give weekday.
