Has anyone ever had to change a third party ID in GOATPAD where you needed  to take away the user ID from one user and assign it to another?  We are in the processes of merging different Banner data sources into our IDM system so each user has one username.  What we have found is that Banner will not let you change an ID of a user.

In our case though, the Third Party ID is populated from our home-grown IDM processes because the username is generated externally. GOATPAD (actually Oracle) will throw an error if you try to change the Third Party ID to a value that already exists. What error are you getting? Andy
We have scripts that do this at Drake University - we actually use gobtpac_external_user to store the email id so our script updates that column. I think the gorpaud_external_user needs to be removed as well if you are using an ID that was previously used. Angie
