Message from masson@alumni.ucdavis.edu

All,

I just wanted to pass on a note that the Jasig-Sakai conference proposal deadline has been extended. I also want to let you know that the conference is open to anyone interested in open source technologies, not just folks working with Jasig or Sakai related projects. Indeed, there are several tracks focused on sharing experiences related to the adoption, support and administration of open source generally on campuses. Many campuses struggle with understanding the issues related to open source development, and your efforts implementing Moodle, Drupal, WordPress, Big Blue Button, etc. or even other types of open initiatives, like OER  OCW, etc., might help another institution to successfully deploy their own open initiatives.

I hope you will consider sharing your experiences and join the larger community working with open source in higher education.

Thanks,
Patrick

Deadline Extended!

https://www.concentra-cms.com/cfp/p/2012-jasig-sakai

Thank you to everyone who submitted a proposal for the Jasig-Sakai Conference in Atlanta June 10-15.  We received many great proposals.  We also received many requests for more time.  So, by popular demand and to ensure a good balance of presentations, we are extending the deadline until Friday, March 23. While open to all tracks, the program committee encourages you to consider the following areas:

·         Awareness and Advocacy

·         Getting Started

·         Leadership and Future Directions

We want to hear your new ideas, see your great work, and learn from your successes.  What are you waiting for?  Get your proposal in!

Submit by Friday, March 23

Forwarding this along as I suspect there may be some open source/OCW/OER/Openness supporters within...
