Dear All We would like to make you aware of the upcoming Workshop and Training on Open Content licensing in Europe (Barcelona 19 & 20 September) The main goal of this two-day event is to clarify legal issues with regard to regulations that govern the ownership and use, reuse or modification of educational resources, which are produced at Higher Education Institutions in Europe. A direct focus is placed upon copyright. Participants will learn about the meaning of the open content licensing framework for OpenCourseWare & Open Educational Resources. They will gain practical skills on how to use such frameworks, through the utilization of Creative Commons licenses, to license and disseminate their own content or to use, reuse or modify educational content produced elsewhere. For more information and to register for this free event please visit: http://opencourseware.eu/Workshop-Open-Content-licensing-in-Europe We would appreciate if you would spread information about the Workshop in your networks. Kind Regards Igor This event is being organized as part of the project on “OpenCourseWare in the European HE context - How to make use of its full potential for virtual mobility” with the support of the Lifelong Learning Programme of the European Union. --------------- Igor Lesko Operations Manager & Open Education Specialist OpenCourseWare Consortium Cell:+27(0)72 6130478 (Johannesburg, South Africa) igorlesko@gmail.com (personal) igorlesko@ocwconsortium.org (work) Skype:igor19805 Twitter:igor_lesko www.ocwconsortium.org ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.

Igor,

Thank you for sharing.  This looks like it will be a wonderful event.  There are a lot of familiar names.  I am wondering if for those of us who cannot attend in person, any resources will be made available from the Workshop.  Perhaps recordings, papers, presentation materials, and other ancillary assets.

Thank You,

Ken

Hello Ken Thank you for your email. Resources from the workshop will be made available on the Project's website: http://www.opencourseware.eu/welcome (after the event) We are currently looking into live streaming opportunities and will be using twitter to post updates and to allow for online participation/engagement. We will post more details in this regard a few days before the event. Kind Regards Igor --------------- Igor Lesko Operations Manager & Open Education Specialist OpenCourseWare Consortium Cell:+27(0)72 6130478 (Johannesburg, South Africa) igorlesko@gmail.com (personal) igorlesko@ocwconsortium.org (work) Skype:igor19805 Twitter:igor_lesko www.ocwconsortium.org On 10 August 2012 15:16, Ken Udas wrote: > Igor, > > Thank you for sharing.
