Project Management Constituent Group

Hi All,

We are in the process of reviewing various Project Management applications and are considering Microsoft Project Server 2010. We are utilizing Project 2010 to some degree but would love to talk to some schools about their 2010 server environment, including a demo. Would anyone be willing to provide a demo of your environment to us? Other items we’d like to talk about are lessons learned, would you choose Project again if you had the choice, etc?

I’ve heard Project is not the most intuitive and difficult to set up correctly. I’d like to hear if most people feel this way.

I have learned a great deal from watching this list and I am hoping you can give me some direction on how you have your staff track and report their time against assignments/projects.  We have never tracked staff time, but want to when we move to our new project management system.  Will you share with me, and the others on the on the list how you do this?  Do you track in time increments and update time daily or just have a person provide approximations at the end of the week?  Do you track administrative time as well as project and operational time?  Is it worth tracking time?  Any information and guidance you can share will be greatly appreciated.  Thanks

I’m doing a studying for our CIO on outsourcing email, and wondered what email systems you use?

Also, would be interested in talking with anyone who’s outsourced email or researched and decided NOT to outsource their email.

We are starting a process of reviewing requirements for a project and portfolio management tool for our central IT department with a view to having something in production within the next year.

Hi all,

Do any of you have policy management software implemented at your school?  We’re looking for software that supports management of the full policy lifecycle – writing a policy, approvals and workflow, storage, dissemination, end user reading/review of the policy, possibly even taking some quiz questions at the end, change notifications, etc.

Just wondering what you all are using for such a thing, as we are looking to kick off a project to implement software for this purpose.  Looking to understand the vendors out there.
