Happy new year Health Science IT-ers!
Here's the January Question of the month.

MOOCS, Khan Academy, Ted Talks… all have elevated the awareness of and desire for better online learning in higher education.  What online learning initiatives are underway (or planned) at your institution and what are the key drivers for those initiatives?

Case School of Medicine, Cleveland Ohio
-We are putting together materials and content for a MOOC of our graduate Physiology program.  The entire Masters program will become available for interested students and academics.  The rationale for the MOOC is to generate awareness and promote enrollment in the course officially for students desiring a diploma.
-Online content for 1st and 2nd year Medical School students is available through our proprietary LMS via Panopto. This lecture capture system enables students to review entire lectures and allows Faculty to flip their classrooms.
-Our busy lecturers are taking to flipping classes and making lessons available online opting for a more interactive classroom session
