Instructional Design Community Group

This EDUCAUSE community group provides a forum for discussion of how to effectively gather, analyze and apply student data to inform and quantify the efficacy of instructional design decisions and processes. Data-informed instructional design, which parallels the emerging theory of Course Design Analytics and Learning Analytics, leverages student-generated data to inform learning and course design for a specific set of students who bear unique characteristics. Since students’ academic performance can be affected by study activities conducted in classrooms, out of classrooms, and through newly-emerging and rapidly-evolving technology, this group will examine data in a variety of venues. This group meets at the EDUCAUSE annual conference and uses the electronic discussion list to discuss issues throughout the year.
