Joining a Group

Anyone can subscribe to a Constituent Group via the EDUCAUSE website. Here are the steps:

  1. Create an EDUCAUSE web profile or login to your existing profile.
  2. Go to the Constituent and Discussion Groups web page.
  3. Click the name of the group you are interested in.
  4. Click the Join button.
  5. Read the Constituent Group Terms and Conditions and then click the Accept and Join Group button.
  6. You will be added to the group and can now post messages to the group.

Posting Group Messages

Once you have joined a group, you may post messages to the group from the group web page or via e-mail. Here are the steps:

  1. Login to your EDUCAUSE web profile.
  2. Go to the Constituent and Discussion Groups web page.
  3. Click the name of the group you want to post to.
  4. Click the Post a Message button. A new e-mail message will launch, pre-addressed to the group discussion listserv. Type your post into the e-mail message and send it.

After your initial post, you can continue your conversation or reply to group messages directly from your e-mail.

Leaving a Group or Changing Group Preferences

  1. Login to your EDUCAUSE web profile.
  2. Go to the Constituent and Discussion Groups web page.
  3. Find the group you want to leave or change preferences for, and click the Manage button.
  4. Select the modification you'd like to make.
  5. Click the Save button.

If you are receiving group e-mails but the website does not recognize your subscription, please contact EDUCAUSE Member Services for assistance at info@educause.edu or 303-449-4430.

Updating Your E-mail Address

  1. Login to your EDUCAUSE web profile.
  2. Go to the Manage Profile link in the upper right corner of the page.
  3. Click the Edit tab.
  4. Update your e-mail address.
  5. Click the Save button.

Your e-mail address will automatically be updated on the website as well as on any Constituent and Discussion Groups.
