Active learning classrooms with moveable furniture
Hi all, At Penn, we are in early stages of design of an active learning classroom that will be in a new neuro-bio sciences building. It will be used by classes in Biology, Psychology and Biological Basis of Behavior. We are familiar with the SCALE-UP model of instruction and classrooms, and are planning to visit some SCALE-UP sites to see these rooms in action. However, we are also considering alternative designs that use moveable furniture to allow more flexibility. Can anyone recommend interesting examples of such rooms in the Philadelphia area, or north east US, for a possible visit? We are especially interested in rooms that are used in life sciences. -- John MacDermott Director for Instructional Technology SAS Computing, University of Pennsylvania firstname.lastname@example.org voice: 215-898-3046 fax: 215-573-3166 ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
