My name is Faye Leibowitz, and I am the co-editor of the "Balance Point" column in the Elsevier library science journal Serials Review. The "Balance Point" serves as a forum for multiple authors who work in areas related to serials and who present different viewpoints about current issues and controversial topics related to serials. In my next column, I will explore the topic "Serials and the MOOC." I would like to explore how MOOC instructors and students utilize periodicals (both print and online) and article databases in their courses. I'm interested in exploring how/if subscription databases are used, how and where MOOC students access print journals, or any other topics relating to the use of serial publications in the MOOC environment. Would you be interested in sharing your ideas about this topic in a contribution to my column? Please let me know by May 15 if you are interested in submitting a contribution. Ideally, contributions should be three to five pages long, double spaced. If you are unable to submit a written contribution, but would be willing to share your ideas with me in a telephone interview, this might be a possibility. The deadline for submission of contributions is July 15. Thank you very much. Best wishes, Faye Leibowitz General Languages Catalog Librarian University Library System University of Pittsburgh frleibo@pitt.edu ********** Participation and subscription information for this EDUCAUSE Constituent Group discussion list can be found at http://www.educause.edu/groups/.
