Preconference Seminars
Audio/Visual Equipment
All standard technology is listed below; we do not need to know what AV or network connection you plan to use for your session. Please don't hesitate to contact Victoria Fanning if you have any questions or if you have a request that is not covered below.
The following audio/visual equipment will be available:
- One corded lavaliere microphone
- One podium microphone
- Projection screen and projector (at least 1024x768)
- EDUCAUSE-provided computers
- Each meeting room will have a computer connected to the Internet and to a projector. The computers will have a floppy, CD, and DVD drive available, as well as USB ports. Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access), Internet Explorer, Netscape, Acrobat Reader, WinZip, Real Audio, and Windows Media Player will be installed.
If you have already sent in the following information, please do not resend it.
We strongly encourage presenters to use the in-room computer, and if you'd rather not, we need to know the following:
- If you plan to use your own laptop, and whether it's a PC or Mac. (If it's a Mac, please bring the appropriate connector so you can connect to a standard VGA.)
Regardless of whether you use the in-room computer or your own laptop, we also need to know:
- If you need house sound (i.e. you are playing a video or movie clip)
Additionally, if you have any special AV requests such as a flipchart or VCR, please contact Victoria Fanning.
Internet Access
The following network connections will be available:
- Wireless 802.11b access will be available for all presenters. The connection speed will be sufficient for accessing and navigating Web and/or e-mail pages. The SSID for access will be EDUCAUSEAIR.
- One dedicated Ethernet line if your computers or equipment cannot use 802.11b wireless or you need to feature a specialized service such as videoconferencing. In this case, you will need to provide your own computer with a network card.
